Why is commitment<\/strong> so important? In a work\nenvironment we can see commitment when we as people realize of the importance\nof fulfilling our missions and values through every activity that we carry out\nanywhere in the world. One of ULMA’s greatest values is to be professionally committed to\nthe effort and dedication required<\/strong> in each goal and activity we wish to accomplish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of our main values as a\ncompany has always been and will always be social commitment as a tool to help\ntransform our society<\/strong> into a fairer one. We work in solidarity<\/strong> in order to promote projects that turn\nthe needs of the most disadvantaged people into opportunities to achieve prosperity<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We firmly believe that one of\nthe best and most important values<\/strong> a company can have is social commitment<\/strong>, that is, the actions we\ncarry out to create awareness in society of existing problems, creating support\nto address them and finding the appropriate solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ULMA’s commitment to\nsolidarity<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In the ULMA Group, we have our own solidarity foundation<\/strong> to increase and solidify our commitment to society. Among the most important objectives we have set ourselves are to support and promote the following:
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • The social\neconomy<\/strong> and entrepreneurship on a local level<\/li>
  • Socio-cooperative\nand professional education and training<\/strong><\/li>
  • Education,<\/strong> formal or informal, at all levels<\/li>
  • Activities<\/strong> of a cultural, social, or charitable\nnature<\/li>
  • Solidarity\nand intercooperation<\/strong>\nbetween entities operating in the social economy<\/li>
  • Scientific\nresearch<\/strong> and technological\ndevelopment<\/strong><\/li>
  • Creation\nand maintenance of jobs<\/strong> by ensuring job stability<\/li>
  • Social\naction<\/strong><\/li>
  • Education,\nculture, sports, health and work<\/li>
  • Cooperation\nand education for development<\/strong><\/li>
  • Defense\nof the environment<\/strong> and heritage<\/strong><\/li>
  • Community\ndevelopment<\/li>
  • Basque\nlinguistic and cultural diversity<\/strong><\/li>
  • Volunteering\nand advocacy for tolerance<\/strong><\/li>
  • Equal\nopportunities<\/strong><\/li>
  • Defense\nand protection of animals<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n


    \nThrough the ULMA\nFoundation, we have set ourselves the goal of transforming and attempting to\nchange certain established patterns in our society, advocating a more humanized and\nsustainable model,<\/strong> working and collaborating for this purpose with entities that\nare encompassed in some of the following areas:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Development<\/strong> cooperation, allocating 0.7% of our profit\nto projects in developing countries<\/li>
    • Cooperative\ntraining<\/strong> and support to\nentities that promote and help cooperativism<\/li>
    • Education<\/strong> in general<\/li>
    • Healthcare<\/strong> institutions, assistance for senior\ncitizens, and work-life balance<\/li>
    • Promoting\nequality<\/strong> and the work and social integration of disadvantaged groups<\/li>
    • Agroecology,\nfood sovereignty, sustainable transportation, energy, and care for the\nenvironment<\/strong><\/li>
    • Promotion\nof the normalization of the Basque language<\/strong><\/li>
    • Promotion\nof grassroots sports activities<\/strong> and traditional\/cultural sporting events<\/li>
    • Cultural\nactivities and entities<\/strong> in\ngeneral<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      It is important to highlight\nthat in each of these areas, we distribute the social fund generated by the\nULMA Group’s cooperatives based on criteria approved by the ULMA Foundation’s Board of\nTrustees<\/strong>.\nThe criteria that guide this distribution in the different areas are divided\ninto three main classes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      • The hierarchy\nof<\/strong> human needs<\/strong><\/li>
      • The geographic\nproximity to<\/strong> the places where ULMA is present<\/li>
      • The number\nof people who<\/strong> will be affected by each ULMA Foundation action<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

        Along with the priority\nentities in each of these areas, always non-profit organizations, we organise activities<\/strong> jointly, encouraging the\nparticipation of all ULMA workers who wish to do their part to contribute to\nthe ultimate objective of transforming society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        In this way, we collaborate actively in\nsolidarity,<\/strong>\nalways contributing our time and people power to<\/strong> the causes that need it.
